The PVMC Membership Model

A Broad Coalition

Companies and organizations from across the solar PV industry supply chain have expressed their commitment to support and participate in PVMC, including federal laboratory, university, and company research partners; PV industry companies including material, equipment, and metrology suppliers as well as module producers and integrators; and utility companies and other end users.

Who Can Join

To promote the integration and collaboration of key players from across the spectrum of the PV industry, PVMC offers several tiers of participation, from full membership in all activities, to program area participation, to participation in selected custom activities:

• Core Members
  U.S. PV manufacturing and supply chain companies that participate in the full program set and the operations of the consortium, and have access to all common/pre-competitive program results
• Associate and Sub-Program Members
  PV manufacturing and supply chain companies that participate in select cell and module development, tool infrastructure, benchmarking, manufacturing productivity, or other consortium programs
• Multi-User/Incubation Participants
  Industry partners, start-up companies, national labs, and universities (collectively “users”) that access PVMC facilities as part of a proprietary program or on an individual, fee-for-service basis

International entities will be considered for membership and participation if they provide substantial investments in support of PVMC operations and technology advantages to member programs; have significant manufacturing and/or R&D operations in the U.S. and/or a clear commitment to grow U.S. manufacturing; and commit to fair and reasonable restrictions on IP leaving the U.S. that has been developed within PVMC.
